|
|
Hi,
Was about to buy a Navman 420i, a single din in-dash unit, but am now reconsidering as I've got doubts about the quality of mapping and availability of updates. I saw one comment which said Navman is not updateable and therefore disposable ...but this is a £300 unit rather than a sucker mount so I would hope it can be updated?
Any recommendations for any other in-dash units?
Thanks

Hi
I can't find your unit anywhere but I would be surprised if you couldn't get map updates and the maps don't look to bad
but if your after a few recommendations I would say the
Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT
Eclipse AVN726e
Pioneer AVIC-U310BT
JVC KW-NX7000
look pretty good

| In-dash Satellite Navigation unit does not increase resale value of your car, but I found it too late.

Hi,
I totally recommend the Kenwood DNX7340BT double din unit as it runs on the Garmin software. I have had this unit now for 6 months and with the external arial, the signal if always strong. The Garmin software looks great on the unit. Also, the maps recalculate fast on the unit. Hope this of some help to you.

Thanks for the replies...unfortunately I can only fit a single din unit into my van.
The Navman I mentioned is currently sold in Halfords.

Someone may not be willing to pay you "more" for two or three year old technology, but if your car has dash nav, and my car doesn't, guess which car someone is going to buy first? Yours!
So there is some value to it, even if that is not going to be what you paid for it. If your car has any kind of standard dash cutout (like a double-DIN) then you can always just take it out and put it in the next car, of course. At least if it is built in, you don't have to kludge around with suction cups and wires hanging out, and someone is less likely to break the window to steal it. A fast expesnive repair.
