Can anyone help me purchasing a gps that i want to use in my car and for camping.
I am looking at either a Navman S90i or a Tom Tom Go720. Can you suggest the best out of these models,eg ease of use, downloading up to date maps etc.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Regards Ross

I would not recommend the S90i due to rebooting and screen overlaying issues. Navman have their head buried in the sand and not admitting that there is a problem, with no admission it means no fix.

Go with any big brand. You can't beat the easy to use interface and excellent maps.

Hi guys..

If you need a GPS, i would suggest you do some research.

I don't think its fair to say "don't buy a Navman", sure the s90i does have a rebooting issue, but they are supposed to release an update for that.

The new My series from Navman might be worthwhile looking into... also, if you buy a new Navman, you're eligible for free map upgrades for the next 3 years...

(and no, I don't work for Navman, just trying to be helpful)

Hope this helps

Cheers

Hi,

I own a Kenwood double din unit, model number DNX7340BT and I recommend this unit. I find the navigation system which runs from Garmin very user friendly and the maps recalculate quite fast. I've owned a Navman and Tom Tom previously and I find that the in car unit is definitely more powerful than the usual handheld units.

Hope this helps.
